一、The name of the cultivar
1.Cultivar epithet: The epithet of the cultivar to be registered must be spelled normatively in English or English letters. If the nominator needs to mark the original language, its text should be marked with () behind the cultivar epithet. For example, if the cultivar epithet is Hanyue, and the nominant needs to mark the Chinese name, and then it can be written as Hanyue (寒月)。2.According to the requirements of the latest edition of the International Code for the Nomenclature of Cultivated Plants (9th edition), a legitimate and appropriate name should be given to the cultivar to be registered. A completed cultivar name should include (1):genus (in Latin form) + ‘cultivar epithet’,or (2): species (in Latin form, genus+species epithet) +‘cultivar epithet’. The genus name and the species name should be acknowledged based on the latest version of International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN).
3.If the cultivar is derived from a species, its complete cultivar name is composed of a species name (a genus name+a epithet)+‘cultivar epithet’; If the cultivar is derived from a hybrid, its complete name is composed of a genus name +‘cultivar epithet’. Details of its parents plants (its female parent plant and male parent plant) should be provided. A genus name and a species name should be presented in italic typeface, whereas a cultivar epithet should be presented in upright letters.
二、Notice
1.A cultivar name may not be established if its epithet consists solely of a single letter or solely of Arabic or Roman numerals or a single letter or numerals in combination with a punctuation mark.
2.A name is not established if its cultivar epithet when written in Roman script contains punctuation marks except the apostrophe (’), the comma (,), up to two non-adjacent exclamation marks (!), the period or full-stop (.), or the hyphen (-), the forward slash (/) or backward slash (\) symbols.
3.A name with punctuation mark such as ‘@’、‘%’、‘+’can not be established.
4.A name is not established if its cultivar epithet is the name of a genus or the common name of a species or other denomination class if use of such epithets might lead to confusion.
5.A name is not established if its cultivar epithet is so similar or identical in spelling when transliterated or transcribed into the Roman alphabet to an existing epithet in the denomination class to which the cultivar is assigned that the name might cause confusion.
6.A name is not established if its cultivar epithet might exaggerate the merits of the cultivar and which might become confusing through the later introduction of new cultivars having comparable characters.

(1)Trade name or trade designation: a device that is used to market a plant in place of, or in addition to, an accepted or adopted name. Except for registered names, the trade names for a cultivator for commercial purposes can vary.
(2)Breeder: the person developing new or improved groups of plants by selection, hybridization, and similar methods.
(3)Registrant: a person submitting a name to a registration authority for registration. The registrant, the breeder, the nominant and the promoter can be the same person.
三、Cultivator history
1.If the place where the cultivar is founded is a nursery or a site managed by people, the origins should be “cultivated plant”. Otherwise, it should be “wild plant”.
2.Date of breeding is from the earliest cultivation to the end of the first growth and development cycle.
3.Fill in the information as much as possible.
四、Cultivar description
1.Plant height: Use a tape measure to measure the height of the largest one, the medium one and the smallest plant respectively,from the ground of the plant to the top of the inflorescence (accurate to 1 millimeter).
2.The color of main characters of the cultivar, including calyx、corolla lobes、labellum、lateral staminodes、filament and anther, should be measured by using RHS colour chart under the sun, and details should be provided, such as orange red group 31B.
3.All measurement data should be in international metrics: cm (centimeter) or nm (millimetre).
五、Images requirements
1.A comparison picture of the main features and RHS colour chart should be provided.
2.Images should be in jpg, tif or raw formats, and pixels should be more than 1200dpi.
